Ten Cloverbelt Conference Junior Varsity Golf teams squared off in the first match of the year on April 12 at Lake Hallie Golf. Temperatures were initially in the high 40s but quickly turned cooler with the winds picking up and snow flurries and scattered rain falling over the last hour of the match.
The Saints were led by Afton Fedie who fired a 53 over nine holes. Close behind were teammates Ethan Petersilka (54), Colton Gores (57), Adam Waldusky (58) and Myles Fish (67). The McDonell-Regis squad finished fifth as a team with a score of 223, three strokes away from finishing second as there was a tight race for the team title. The JV squad is in action again Thursday afternoon at Whispering Pines in Cadott.
